Community Events at Citizen Space

**NEW EVENT SPACE** Opening October 1st, 2013.  Newly renovated 2,500 square foot private event space with private entrance next door.  Available for day, evening, and weekend rentals for your event needs.  Seating and tables available as well as A/V equipment and projector.  Contact Us to Book Your Private Event!

Citizen Space is a coworking space first, but we do regularly host and rent out space out for events that enrich the community in our main space as well. Facilities include a large common area, configurable desks, digital projector and white screen, and kitchenette. If you’d like to use our space for your event, please make sure that your event attendees respect the personal space of our desk residents. You are responsible for your own setup and cleanup. Events such as training,  discussion panels, demos, hackathons, meetups, author readings, etc. are welcome.

Note:
We don’t say yes to every event request for our main space as we prefer events that relate to San Francisco’s coworking and entrepreneurial community.  Schedule and staffing resources may determine space availability.

Event Information:

Main Event Space Capacity: 100 seated auditorium style, 150 Standing

New Event Space Capacity:  150, standing, 90 seated auditorium style or 50 training style with chairs and tables.

Media Recording Room: Dedicated room that can be used to film video interviews, audio, etc.  Room is sound proof with smaller enclosed booth. Can be rented for $75 an hour, or $500 for the day (weekdays, weekend studio lockouts are $800 a day)

Pricing: Weekday: Starting at $100/hr.  Weeknight: $175-$575 depending on size and nature of the event (community focus, size, if admission is charged, etc.) $75 cleaning fee added for all groups serving food/drink. All weeknight events start after 6pm.  Contact us for special reduced community membership rates!

Weekend: (the space is occasionally available for weekend events): $300 per day and up, depending on scope of event; $75 cleaning fee added for any groups serving food/drink.

Staffing: 1 Citizen Space member or staff present to lock up and answer your questions. Please bring your own staff for the event. If there will be more than 15 guests, bring 1 staff member per 25 guests.

Catering: Citizen Space provides managed catering and bar services for all events, outside catering and bars are also allowed, an 10% additional fee will be included if you bring outside catering and bar vendors. We also offer our staff of servers and bartenders for your event needs.

Equipment included: 50 chairs, 8 large tables, 3 cafe-style tables. Projector and pull-down screen, white board, surround-sound speakers, use of cleaning supplies.

Equipment for rent:

  • 500 watt PA system with wireless mic can be rented for $75 a day, or $20 an hour
  • Additional folding chairs at .30 each per day
  • Presentation Podium
  • 20 mbps Broadband upload speed for HD live streaming from the space

 

Publicity: We’re happy to publicize your event to our on our Twitter feed and the bulletin board in our space.

Parking and Transportation: We’re a 10 minute walk from Montgomery Bart, 15 minute walk from CalTrain. There is nearby metered parking and two parking lots within a stone’s throw. The parking lots are $10/day and often “free” in the evenings if there is no attendant. Bikes are welcome inside the front door of our space.

Please include what your group/event is about, estimated size, admission price (if any), and if you plan to serve food/drink, need catering, etc. Also, feel free to visit the space for an event, call us for a tour,  or even cowork before hand to get a feel for the space!

  • Be a groovy cat: digging a higher purpose in life and contribute to making this a great space to work.
  • Be okay with evening and occasional weekend events happening in the space (you will be warned, don't worry)
